How to Make Romantic Videos for Your Monthsary

Common perceptions of couples on Monthsaries is that it should not be as "earth-shattering" or dramatic as their anniversaries. Flowers, chocolates, a teddy or a short letter may be common and their acceptability for most women who measures men's efforts depends on the sincerity of the giver. So here's another common idea which could still surprise your partner in your special days - show her a short romantic video.

It does not actually need professional skills to edit one. Though if you're really serious you could hire somebody to do it for you. But still, just a few tweaks in an hour on your Windows Movie Maker could actually work if you try to do it on your own.

I was first inspired to this when my girlfriend surprised me in Valentine's back in 2013 by asking me to watch a video she made. She was hesitant about actually making me watch it, but since she already told me about it and the suspense was killing me, I insisted.

Here it is, so you could get an idea.

Hope you finished watching the video and seen how much effort she made on the dramatic transitions between slides of our pictures. :)

So you see, simple picture slides actually have emotional impact to anyone who watches that video. Much more if those pictures of yours show sweet moments that would make people say awwwee.

Alright so if this is the first time you will be navigating Windows Movie Maker, I will still assume that you understand certain buttons to press on whatever WMV version you have there. It really will not matter.

   1. First, choose your sweet pictures and gather them in your folder named you could easily locate. It would be easier if it is in your desktop.

   2. Now, open your Windows Movie Maker. Go back to your folder, select everything (Ctrl + A), copy (Ctrl + C) then paste them on your wmv (Ctrl + V). Or your could simply drag and then release them all on your wmv.

  3. Now you could see all of your pictures as part of your "Imported Media" tab.

  4. Depending on your prefered order on your movie, you can now start holding and dragging your pictures one by one to the "Timeline" below. You will notice each time you try to release each pic, there will be a line / cursor so you will know where it will stay in case you change your mind and insert it to a previous one.

  5. Now when you're done arranging your pictures in your chosen order, choose your song in ".mp3" format and drag it to your wmv. When it's copied, drag it again to your timeline below your bar of pictures.

 6. And that's it! You could click on publish, then slide the computer and your picture will turn into a movie when it's done.

I would suggest to leave it that way without transitions simple because the simpler the presentation is, the more impact it gives. But if you want to, you could just simply click on transitions, choose from the list, drag them and release in between pictures.

Here is my own edited video without transitions and it gained a lot of likes when I posted it on facebook on our 22nd Monthsary :)

Happy Editing!
